How RupeePulse works
A simple, repeatable way to turn day-to-day money records into a useful financial-year view.
1. Choose the period you want to review
RupeePulse starts with a financial-year view. Select the year that matches the records you are entering. Financial years run April–March; you can also select calendar-year organisation in settings if that is more useful for your own record keeping.
2. Add records, not estimates
Enter income when it is received and expenses when they occur. Use descriptions that will make sense later—such as the merchant, bill type or purpose. Keeping the date and category accurate is more useful than trying to create a perfect budget on day one.
3. Separate recurring commitments
Add bills, subscriptions, insurance renewals and loan details separately. This makes future commitments easier to see without mixing them into ordinary discretionary spending. Review due dates against your actual statements; reminders are a convenience, not a guarantee of payment.
4. Review the dashboard at a regular interval
A monthly review works well for most households. Compare income, spending and savings; check whether a category changed materially; and update any investment value only when you have a reliable source. The figures shown are based entirely on the data you enter.
5. Keep a backup
Local-mode data is held by your browser. Export a backup after material updates and store it somewhere you control. Deleting browser site data can remove local records. If you use cloud backup, understand the separate data handling described in the privacy notice.
